SATURDAY, JULY 24: ALIGN AND STRETCH FOR RUNNERS AND CYCLISTS: AN ANUSARA INSPIRED YOGA WORKSHOP DESIGNED TO HELP RUNNERS, CYCLISTS, AND OTHER ATHLETES AVOID INJURY AND INCREASE ENJOYMENT IN WHATEVER THEIR SPORTS! This workshop is designed to focus on upper back, quads, hips, and hamstrings: areas that often tighten and move out of alignment from the repetitive actions involved in cycling and running. Opening up these areas will lead to enhanced mobility and freedom and less pain in the low back, especially. Learn how to make your movements more fluid and your efforts more effective.
Workshop will be held at Mind Body Studio from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Taught by Nancy Allen. This workshop is a benefit for the Quilts for Kids Nepal Project (www.quiltsnepal.org); pay whatever you are able; $30 donation makes you eligible to win a quilt! Register at the door.

SATURDAY MORNING MEDITATION GROUP. MEETS THE FIRST AND THIRD SATURDAYS OF EVERY MONTH FROM 9 A.M. SHARP TO 9:45 AT THE UNITARIAN HOUSE, 818 COURT STREET, LYNCHBURG, VA. WE SHARE A GUIDED MEDITATION FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES, FOLLOWED BY A SHORT PERIOD OF STRETCHING AND DISCUSSION, THEN A FINAL UNGUIDED PERIOD OF MEDITATION. COME JOIN US - NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. IF YOU CARE TO BRING A CUSHION, FEEL FREE. THERE ARE ALSO PLENTY OF CHAIRS AVAILABLE.
